Teen photo parties go underwater

I've been doing teen photo parties for about 4 years now as part of the business which have worked really well. For anyone who hasn't been to one, I bring all my equipment to your house and set up a home studio. The kids get to dress up and pose in 3-4 outfits and is always a great way to start a night of partying for anyone's birthday. Well I've been a photographer for 10 years (as a hobby for over 20) and I've been a scuba diver for around 7 years. I'm building myself through the ranks and it inevitable that photography and diving were eventually going to meet. Well I finally took the plunge :) and got myself a Hugyfot camera housing and Light and Motion lights to be able to take my Canon 5D mk2 underwater with me. It normally goes everywhere with me above the water so why shouldn't it follow me below the waves. I'm not just wanting to photograph wrecks and coral like every other photographer. I'm Also wanting to take the rest of my dry land locked...

Movember 30th - the end it almost here!

Well this is almost it. You have been with me for about 39 days or so. It's been rough and tough at times. It I think we have shaped up quite nicely in the end :) I am going to be getting rid of the Mo on the 2nd December as I didn't clean shave until the 2nd November so I want to do a full month. Plus I've become a little attached to it. Maybe I'll end up growing a variety of facial hair over the year from now :) We will have to see. I've had an amazing long weekend shooting lots of different people under the water. Friday I was in the pool finishing scuba diving skills and configuring kit, lights, etc. Saturday I was at Capernwray with new scuba students, helping them to qualify and join the underwater world. Saturday night we were out as a diving team in Pudsey celebrating having a great time. Sunday I was in the pool at the Rendezvous Hotel in Skipton, shooting photographs of babies and mums underwater. It went swimmingly well :) and I ended up with people I hadn't planned to be there having photographs done as well which was a result. Finally yesterday I went with Ben and Cato to Waswater in the Lakes and did some fun none training diving. Nice pootle down to 30m on a nice cool spring day, viz was around 10 meters and very green compared to the last time I went - 40m viz with a very light green colour cast. Very good weekend all in all :)
