This should have posted months ago but it turns out it didn't post, it is linked the the post about in reflection to my weekend warrior comment!
Here is a classic of the trade...
You spend time replying to a missed call, giving a very VERY competitive reduced price for a last minute (within a month) wedding quote, spend time on the phone, selling your skills, showing and explaining how you can work to their needs and bend double in some cases. And what happens? That's right, your told that your services aren't needed. The reason not given but it is clear they have found someone cheaper than you. The truth been that the only people able to quote any lower than me will be budding amateurs that won't have the know how to deal with the intricate low light conditions, or as they are known in the Pro world as "Weekend Warriors". The term means people that come along on a weekend between thief full time jobs and as they arent relying on the money to pay a salary and are def not registered as a business (due to the tax mans cut that would kill any small business) then they come along and kill the art and instead put all their images through IPhoto or an app on their phones to give them the arty vintage look :S
